When people first hear that Legends of Thaloranth is a diceless RPG, the first reaction is usually curiosity — followed closely by disbelief.
      “How do you resolve actions?”
      “What about luck?”
      “Where’s the chaos?”

The truth is, LoT doesn’t remove the uncertainty of dice — it redefines who controls it.

Instead of rolling to see if you succeed, LoT places the outcome in the hands of story logic, skill ratings, and action points. Every choice has weight; every action has consequence. It’s less about chance and more about narrative accountability.

By removing dice, LoT achieves a few key things:

Speed. No math, no modifiers — just pure story momentum.

Agency. Players drive the fiction instead of waiting on numbers.

Tension through resources. Your choices and timing with Action Points matter more than any random roll.

Consistency. Story results make sense — they flow from character ability, not probability spikes.

Does it mean the world is predictable? Not at all.
The Game Master (or Solo Oracle) still governs chaos through narrative triggers, environmental factors, and the infamous Twist Table — the engine of uncertainty in LoT.

I designed this system to make every session feel like a collaborative novel, not a math test.

      So let’s talk about it:

How do you feel about diceless systems?

Do you think removing dice enhances or weakens immersion?

If you’ve played LoT, what moments stood out most because there were no dice?

Let’s keep the discussion open, philosophical, and passionate — exactly how legends are forged.
